Install, maintain and repair electrical systems as an essential part of project delivery.
Our Journeyman Electricians:
Install, maintain and repair electrical systems, equipment, wiring and controls in a petrochemical environment;
Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and construction of industrial electrical equipment and systems found in an industrial or commercial environment through the proper use of standard wire, MC-HL cable, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants; Read and understand wiring schematics, design drawings, and specifications;
Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction such as hydraulic/electric conduit benders, knockout punch sets, cable pullers, meggers, hi-pot equipment, volt meters, multi-testers and ammeters;
Sets and secures electrical distribution equipment including switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, power panels and instrument and control junction boxes; Install power, control and instrumentation circuits ranging from 24V DC up to 13.8KV;
Bend, cut, thread and install conduit;
Install and terminate wiring;
Check out and troubleshoot simple electric circuits and electrical devices and machinery;
Accountable for testing, troubleshooting, installing power distribution and motor control circuits;
Mentor apprentices with the intent of creating competent future journeymen not only in the electrical trade, but also in the CH2M safety culture;
Participate in daily and weekly Tool Box meetings.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Must possess a current and valid Alaska State Fitness Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician.
Four (4) years of field experience through an accredited apprenticeship program.
Basic understanding of electrical circuits including the operation and function of typical electrical devices and machinery such as solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, motor control centers, generators, batteries and lighting systems.
Must have knowledge of the National Electric Code.
Must be able to follow all company, client, safety and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
Must provide own tools.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Six (6) years of experience as an electrician, including three (3) years in industrial electrical work or in relevant field
Petrochemical, oilfield or arctic experience
The position is located in the Anchorage Fabrication Facility. Successful candidate must be able to commute to and from Anchorage on a daily basis. Relocation assistance to Anchorage is not provided.
