As the Fire Suppression Team Superintendent, you will serve as the Atlanta Airlines Terminal (AAT) Project team lead for the fire suppression technical team. Each day, you’ll provide management of a fire suppression technical team across three shifts through work order assignments, special project assignments and client requirements consistent with NFPA, OSHA, state of Georgia and city of Atlanta Fire Marshal requirements. The Fire Suppression Professional: 1. Possesses considerable knowledge and thorough understanding of fire alarm and suppression systems in commercial, institutional or manufacturing setting 2. Plans and oversees the execution of inspections, servicing, preventative maintenance and repair of all equipment associated with the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s (HJAIA) fire alarm and suppression systems (wet, dry, pre-action and deluge) 3. Assigns work to a team of fire suppression technicians to meet NFPA, state of Georgia, city of Atlanta Fire Marshal and client requirements 4. Oversees and conducts performance tests on HJAIA facility wet, dry, pre-action and deluge systems and records, maintains and evaluates test data 5. Uses, cares for and is responsible for tools and equipment used to complete the testing, servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs to fire suppression systems at the HJAIA 6. Manages outside contractors on behalf of the Atlanta Airlines Terminal Corporation (AATC – the project client) to complete special projects as required by AATC in support of the testing, servicing, preventative maintenance and repair of the fire suppression systems at HJAIA 7. Ensures outside contractor work is compliant with job, safety and code requirements 8. Attends various professional development, management, safety and other training opportunities consistent with position requirements and individual development plan (IDP) 9. Promotes and adheres to safe work practices and implements safety policies consistent with CH2M HSE programs and plans, including standard hazard recognition and mitigation practices for the testing, preventative maintenance and repair of fire suppression systems 10. Manages the team consistent with CH2M Business Conduct and Ethics Principles Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Knowledge and thorough understanding of wet, dry, pre-action and deluge fire suppression systems, alarms and special hazard system installations, preventative maintenance and testing 2. Ability to use hand tools, power tools and equipment applicable to the testing, preventative maintenance and repair of fire suppression systems 3. Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, vendor data and technical data sheets, etc. 4. Ability to demonstrate general knowledge and work practices consistent with NFPA standards, state of Georgia Fire Code, city of Atlanta Fire Marshal and OSHA safe work practices associated with fire suppression and safety systems 5. Ability to trouble-shoot, diagnose and repair wet, dry, pre-action and deluge systems 6. Proficient in computer software and CMMS applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, Infor EAM, Maintenance Connection, Maximo, etc. 7. Well-versed in general operations, safety practices and policies, as well as specific knowledge of procedures and standards applicable to the safe practice of the testing, preventative maintenance and repair of fire suppression systems 8. Ability to direct, manage and work as part of a team of fire suppression technical professionals in the delivery services to the Atlanta Airlines Terminal Corporation (AATC)
The minimum qualifications for this position are:1. Three to five years’ work experience in the testing, servicing, preventative maintenance and repair of fire alarm and fire suppression systems (wet, dry, pre-action and deluge) 2. One to two years managing the assignment and the completion of work by fire suppression technical teams 3. NICET Level I certification in fire systems required or able to complete certification to NICET Level I within six (6) months of hire date.4. High School degree or GED 5. Valid Georgia Driver’s License with no major infractions
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:1. Five to seven years’ work experience in the testing, servicing, preventative maintenance and repair of fire alarm and fire suppression systems (wet, dry, pre-action and deluge) 2. Three to five years managing the assignment and the completion of work by fire suppression technical teams 3. NICET Level II certification in fire systems preferred 4. Current or previous certification in certifying the installation, operation or maintenance from one or more manufacturers of fire system alarm systems (Pyrotonics, System 3, Notifier, Honeywell, Siemens MXL, Siemens, XLS, Autronica, etc.) 5. Associates or Bachelor’s degree
