Lead the development of transit and rail programs and pursuits in Southeast and have a hand in developing creative and transformational transit solutions.

Our Transit and Rail team is currently initiating a search for a Transit and Rail Portfolio Manager to manage and drive programs in the metro Atlanta region. This position will be based out of CH2M’s Atlanta office. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grow the transit and rail practice for various entities in the Southeast US by leveraging existing relationships and contacts to help develop new projects that will incorporate the planning and design of transit facilities and transit services (including bus commuter rail light rail and other transit projects)

  • Provide marketing and outreach in the transit market sector to clients and other stakeholders and serve as a high level point of contact between the client and CH2M

  • Participate with the transit team coordinating with regional and national transit leadership and at same time also serve in “select” project manager roles for high visible major transit projects

  • Apply knowledge and experience with transit studies such as planning/NEPA and/or design of large multi-discipline projects or medium sized projects with high degrees of technical complexity involving a large project staff

  • Establish/foster teaming relationships with other consulting firms and must be an effective client manager

  • Effectively plan organize and supervise the work of a large staff of professionals and technicians during the entire project to complete project documents/plans on schedule

  • Provide meaningful growth opportunities and training opportunities for staff and recognize the importance of an engaged/fulfilled staff that likes their workplace and their company

  • Mentor and develop staff involved with the planning and design of transit facilities and transit services

  • Work with Business, Accounting Managers, Project Controllers and CH2M management as required in the course of project management

  • Responsible for implementing Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures on transit projects

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Ability to demonstrate complete comfort with being viewed as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity while planning and developing projects or design activities which have significant impact on major company programs

  • Ability to demonstrate effective project and task management skills

  • Experience with FTA

  • Be skilled in transit planning and/or operations or consulting

  • Bachelors degree in Policy, Planning, Civil Engineering or related field

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in the transit planning/engineering industry

  • Must be a strong team leader consensus builder and team player skilled in technical writing communicating and presenting to clients

  • Position requires extensive public participation agency coordination planning and programming experience

  • Must be able to work with office/corporate leaders to develop strategies for key hiring pursuits, key project pursuits, team growth, office growth, profitability, employee development and employee satisfaction
