Our Baltimore Transit and Rail team is searching for a Transit and Rail Systems Design Specialist. You will utilize your skills and work closely with senior level engineering staff to support our existing and future work in the transit and rail market. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical and Engineering level support for MTA to review Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) Systems and supporting equipment

  • Review of contract deliverables related to CBTC for wayside and vehicle on-board equipment

  • Occasional on-site vendor qualification design and testing may be performed in addition to using collaboration (i.e. Local office meetings, local field office meetings, Teleconference calls, WebEx, Skype) to help reduce the need for travel

  • Periodic review of local conditions as needed to support testing and inspection of installed equipment

  • Work in related field of experience and use knowledge above and beyond the anticipated CBTC efforts

  • Provide continuity of operation support for legacy audio track circuits for the remainder of the life cycle or until the existing legacy systems are decommissioned

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Minimum of 10 years-experience with Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) systems and supporting equipment

  • Ability to demonstrate experience with reviews of CBTC based contract deliverables for wayside and vehicle on-board equipment

  • Ability to demonstrate background in working with on-site vendors, rail system teams and other stakeholders

  • Ability to demonstrate experience with testing and inspection of installed equipment

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Four year degree civil or electrical engineering

  • Transit and rail systems certifications

  • Experience with local MTA systems and projects
