CH2M Transportation Engineer/Planner - Bellevue, WA in Bellevue, Washington

CH2M’s Bellevue, WA office is seeking a team player to join us as a Transportation Engineer/Planner. This opportunity is your chance to work on complex multimodal transportation projects that focus on traffic operations, transportation planning and traffic design.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative, experienced and diverse team on shaping the way people travel. You will gain experience analyzing modal operations, long range planning, managing project tasks, schedules, budgets and deliverables, and more. You will be responsible for communicating results to clients and stakeholders. The candidate should be a self-motivated professional with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or transportation engineering, transportation planning, urban planning, or a related field and 4-8 years of experience in the transportation planning and/or traffic engineering field. As a Transportation Engineer/Planner you will be asked to: • Demonstrate successful leadership in a working team environment • Apply innovative approaches to transportation analyses including big-data, transit feeds, and more. • Communicate effectively verbally and with strong writing abilities and visual organization. • Use existing or custom built transportation analysis tools. • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance. • Engage in business development by maintaining and building relationships with clients and track upcoming project opportunities and collaborate on project pursuits.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil or transportation engineering, transportation planning, urban planning, or related field • A minimum of 4 to 8 years of experience in the transportation planning and/or traffic engineering field • Experience in traffic operational analysis, transportation planning, and/or travel demand modeling principles • Technical skills in traffic analysis and modeling • Demonstrated success leading and working in a team environment • Excellent communication skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Experience in a variety of multi-modal transportation study and traffic design, including transit service and operations, arterial and freeway traffic analysis, conceptual planning design, and/or non-motorized planning. • Experienced in a variety of travel demand modeling software packages, such as VISUM, TransCAD, and EMME. • Experience with computer programming, GIS, or transportation planning/traffic operations software (Synchro, VISSIM, or HCS), is desired, but not necessary. • Strong data analysis skills, technical problem solving skills, effective organizational skills, multitasking ability, and excellent computer skills with Microsoft and Adobe products.
