CH2M Transportation Project Manager - Chicago, IL in Chicago, Illinois

As a Transportation Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team working on highway and roadway projects. You will serve as Project Manager for large transportation projects in Illinois, and will be responsible for leading and managing project teams performing preliminary through final design engineering and for preparing a variety of engineering documents. In this position you will have the opportunity to provide senior transportation expertise, maintain schedules and budgets, mentor and lead project staff, and implement Quality Management procedures. You will interact with client staff, stakeholders and senior leadership. You should be a self-motivated professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/transportation engineering and a least 10 to 15 years’ experience. Prior experience on large Illinois Tollway and IDOT projects is preferred.Our Transportation Project Manager:

  • Has responsibility for successfully leading, initiating, planning, designing, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects

  • Leads, mentors and inspires staff

  • Focuses on client service and satisfaction which leads to repeat business

  • Facilitates collaboration and positive interactions amongst team members

  • Maintains close relationships with clients; tracks upcoming project opportunities; and collaborate on project pursuits

  • Coordinates with a wide range of individuals and groups of varying backgrounds and technical disciplines

  • Works with and learns from some of the industry’s most talented managerial, professional and technical staff.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related degree.

  • 10 or more years of experience delivering Illinois Tollway and IDOT projects; project management experience preferred

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Illinois PE preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)

  • Proven ability to work with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, commitment and successful manager of change

  • Collaborative, positive attitude
