As an Electrical Engineer/Project Manager for our Dallas, Texas office, you will work on complex projects including power distribution, lighting, standby power, grounding and auxiliary systems design for new construction and retrofits of industrial, institutional, and commercial facilities. Projects range from airport terminals to subway tunnels to industrial facilities to office buildings to transit centers. You will be responsible for leading electrical design efforts for medium and large-size projects, including leading and mentoring teams of electrical engineers, designers, and technicians across multiple offices. As Project Manager, you will be required to manage the project team through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout, consistent with established project delivery processes to the meet the scope, schedule, budget and other specified requirements stated in the contract. On the electrical engineering side, you will be responsible for independently applying advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods with minimal supervision. On the project management side, you will work under the direction and mentorship of the assigned senior project manager on larger projects. On smaller projects, you will work closely with project delivery leadership or other senior project managers/operations leaders who provide oversight and mentoring as you lead the project delivery efforts for the entire multi-discipline team. You will complete the scope of work to the satisfaction of the client, while simultaneously ensuring that CH2M’s HS&E, quality, financial, risk management; business and policy expectations are met. In addition, you may provide support to BD activities leading up to the award of the project. Finally, for all project types, you will provide financial reporting for the projects for which you are assigned.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• BS in Electrical Engineering • Licensed Professional Engineer with ability to obtain licenses through reciprocity for other states • Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering of commercial and industrial facilities, including the following: o Medium and low voltage power distribution systems (as well as selection of the equipment needed for the systems) o Interior and exterior lighting calculations o Light fixture selection and layout o UPS and standby/emergency generators o Grounding counterpoise and lighting protection systems o Develop and edit equipment and construction specifications and possess a good working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), specifically Article 500 Hazardous (Classified) Locations, NFPA 72, and NFPA 101 o Understanding of the Energy Code • Knowledge and use of short circuit and arc flash software, such as SKM Power Tools. • Experience with auxiliary systems (telephone, data, fire and security) as well as experience with I&C systems • Understanding of the LEED process
