As the Bureau of Reclamation Sales Leader, you will actively manage and grow this account.

The Bureau of Reclamation manages, develops, and protects water and related resources in an environmentally and economically sound manner in the interest of the American public. The Bureau currently covers 17 western states and has an annual budget of approximately $1billion. The Bureau focuses on delivering water more efficiently and effectively to its customers to help satisfy the many needs of irrigation, municipalities, power, and the environment. Additionally, the Bureau of Reclamation is responsible to ensure that their dams do not create unacceptable risk. Working with the Bureau requires collaborations with state and local governments, tribes, and power producers.

You should bring your experience with and understanding of the Bureau of Reclamation and the United States Department of Interior. The Sales Leader must demonstrate competency and experience across water resource, environmental, and infrastructure programs, initiatives, and activities across the western 17 state region. Building upon your current relationships and networks within the Bureau of Reclamation and DOI, you will lead and participate in developing a DOI client account strategy. This strategy will include developing client relationships and networking; client engagement and marketing plans; competitor differentiators; and the addressable market to grow and increase market share across CH2M service offerings.

Your professional experience should have developed an understanding of, and relationships with, the Bureau of Reclamation and DOI programs. You should be well-known to clients with a pre-existing network of relationships to include other contractors that serve the Bureau of Reclamation. In the areas of water resource management, dam protection, and the environment.

Our Bureau of Reclamation Sales Leader is responsible for:

  • Client sales and account management for the assigned market.

  • Identifying contracts well in advance, responding to RFPs/solicitations, interviewing and winning new work.

Working with other members of our team, you’ll lead and participate in proposal efforts; support business development teams in client development initiatives and pursuits; and potentially serve as the Account, Project or Program Manager for our Bureau of Reclamation and other DOI clients in the western U.S. You will also have the opportunity to lead and participate in business and client development tasks, including sales meetings and presentations, proposal development, and overall account management; work collaboratively with business development, technology, project delivery, project management, program management, and project review teams; coach junior and mid-level staff in account management, business development, project delivery, project management, program management, and project review practices; and travel domestically to meet with clients and develop/expand CH2M’s project portfolio. The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • B.S. or M.S. in business, science or engineering

  • At least 15 years of experience in sales, client account management, project management, or program management and associated procurements within the US and globally

  • Experience selling engineering and consulting services to US Civilian Agency government clients and other government clients focused on water resource management

  • Understanding of the engineering and construction industry for the following markets: water resource management; dam protection; and environmental restoration • Understanding of competencies required to develop and deliver planning, consulting, engineering, and construction management for natural resource and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • PE license

  • Demonstrated experience working with US Government, state and local entities, and tribes.

  • Direct experience managing a Bureau of Reclamation program and/or serving as a client account leader for the Bureau of Reclamation or DOI
