CH2M Design Manager - Amman, Jordan in Englewood, Colorado

CH2M is seeking to hire a qualified Design Manager for an anticipated USAID-funded water activity in Jordan. The Design Manager will manage the design of water and wastewater treatment, conveyance schemes from tender to completion of construction. Utilizing knowledge and experience to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that best meet long-term program objectives in constructability and utility.

Project Title: USAID/Jordan, WRE - Construction & Operations Management Task Order under Global Architect-Engineer Services II IDIQ.

Period of Performance: 5 years, est. Jan 2018 through Dec 2023

Place of Performance: Amman, Jordan

Position Description/Summary:

  • Take the lead and responsibility for the overall coordination and production of the multi-disciplinary designs from tender to completion of construction.

  • Manage a sizable, full-time design team in Jordan and as-needed reachback resources (US or elsewhere) throughout the delivery period. Experience in managing multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary, high functioning teams is desired.

  • Take responsibility for risk management.

  • Take responsibility for client engagement and stakeholder consultation.

  • Develop innovative solutions that deliver the clients brief.

  • Adopt a proactive approach to innovation, sustainability and delivering cost effective solutions.

  • Overall responsibility to manage the relationship of the whole project team.

  • Review the designs on a regular basis to identify potential design and buildability issues.

  • Serve as mentor for more junior employees

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have 10-15 years of experience in relevant subject

  • Be a registered Professional Engineer

  • Have experience with managing design, ideally with UK Water Industry

  • Have a comprehensive Technical Construction knowledge

  • Have knowledge of BIM and its implementation
