CH2M Program Manager Transit and Rail - Denver, CO in Englewood, Colorado

Manage a portfolio of transit and rail projects for our Northeast Transit and Rail Group and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.

CH2M is currently initiating a search for a Transit and Rail Program Manager for our Western Transit and Rail Group. This person will be one of our experts in numerous areas of transit and rail project/program management that will help shape the solutions that we bring to light for solving our client's highly technical transit and rail needs. Duties and Responsibilities: • Serve as a portfolio and project manager for transit and rail system projects in the West region, as well as various projects across the country • Apply theory, knowledge and experience in the management, analysis and design of multi-discipline rail projects in both brownfield and green field applications with high degrees of technical complexity involving a large project staff • Effectively coordinate and supervise the work of a transit system staff professionals and technicians during the entire project to complete project documents/plans/analysis on schedule • Provide marketing and outreach in the transit system and other market sector to clients and other stakeholders • Identify, support and lead proposals seeking to win new work • Work with Business, Accounting Managers, Project Controllers and CH2M management as needed to manage projects, achieve goals, and assist in the business of the firm • Typically serves as a front-line member of the project delivery leadership team within the business group • Leads and integrates the planning/forecasting, performance management, and risk management activities across the suite of projects and programs aligned within the portfolio to achieve the firm’s strategic and business objectives • Evaluates project/program performance based on established business metrics (project/program level as well as portfolio level), prioritizes issues and facilitate/take corrective actions, as appropriate • Identifies and communicates lessons learned and best practices throughout the portfolio and across the firm, as appropriate • Identifies and develops project/program management talent through project/program assignments, training, and mentoring • Evaluates project/program management talent by applying established firm-wide processes and consistent with established CH2M performance expectations • Partners with Business Development to actively support the positioning and pursuit of new work, including proposal/pricing review • Leads and integrates the planning/forecasting, performance management, and risk management activities across the suite of projects and programs aligned within the portfolio to achieve the firm’s strategic and business objectives • Evaluates project/program performance based on established business metrics (project/program level as well as portfolio level). Prioritizes issues and facilitate/take corrective actions, as appropriate • Identifies and communicates lessons learned and best practices throughout the portfolio and across the firm, as appropriate • Identifies and develops project/program management talent through project/program assignments, training, and mentoring • Evaluates project/program management talent by applying established firm-wide processes and consistent with established CH2M performance expectations • Partners with Business Development to actively support the positioning and pursuit of new work, including proposal/pricing review • Actively supports the initial mobilization/start-up of strategic projects/programs If you’re up for the challenge, we’ve been looking for someone just like you to lead a portfolio of transit and rail projects assigned to you.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Minimum 15 years of experience in overall transit and rail project/portfolio management • Ability to demonstrate the capability to manage small to mid-sized to large transit and rail projects and transit and rail programs of average to high complexity • Ability to demonstrate effective project and task management skills • Ability to demonstrate experience marketing to clients and winning new pursuits, task orders and revenue producing opportunities • Must be a strong team leader consensus builder and team player skilled in technical writing communicating and presenting to clients

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• BS in civil engineering • Professional Engineer License • Demonstrable expertise in the full life cycle of rail signal systems and the engineering thereof including train planning/modeling, block design, RAMS, system design, vital and non-vital logic programming, installation, verification & validation, commissioning, and asset management • Project experience implementing positive train control or ERTMS Level 2 and CBTC; as well as traditional signaling systems of all types • Ability to demonstrate comfort with being viewed as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves complex and technically challenging problems while planning, developing, and implementing projects or design activities which have significant impact on major transit system programs and 24/7 live train operations
