CH2M Junior Water Resident Engineer - Fresno, CA in Fresno, California
Our Water Resident Engineer position will allow you to utilize your leadership skills on Water and Wastewater Treatment and Conveyance projects in Northern and Central California while having a hand in transforming tomorrow.
You will serve as the technical representative, providing technical direction through the duration of construction, including quality oversight of contractor’s QA/QC program, developing punch list, substantial completion checklists, tracking and scheduling of start-up testing and commissioning, project close-out and turnover of project to Owners. Additional responsibilities as primary client contact for all project-field activities, schedule and conduct progress meetings, provide weekly status to Owner and Senior Managers, review and approve monthly payment applications, change order review and negotiation, schedule update reviews, maintain electronic document control systems and project files/documentation. Confirm construction contractor safety programs are submitted, approved, and followed by all parties involved in the project. Responsible for the enforcement of contract documents including plans and specifications.Our Water Resident Engineers:
Manage field staff of Assistant RE/CMs, Office Engineer, Inspectors, and other construction management professionals, as necessary.
Implement schedule, cost, quality communication, and decision making information tools and processes across the project.
Support project by establishing a safety culture and network of resources to engage with ongoing field operations to meet the needs of the delivery teams.
Support the program controls leadership team to establish schedule control, cost control, change management, risk management, and reporting tools.
Lead project meetings with contractor and stakeholders
Actively manage and report on the status of the construction schedule and budget. Monitor the contract progress and make recommendation to client for contractor payments.
Work to build a cooperative partnership between client, contractors, and all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project.
Demonstrate effective risk management and mitigation practices through proper risk identification, assessment, tracking, and communication
Establish start-up and commissioning plans and identify associated resources as necessary.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
Internships or work experience on major construction projects performing Construction Management.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
At least 3-5 years of work experience as a construction manager/resident engineer.
Must have demonstrated proficiency in the use of compute to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs such as Word or Excel.
Proven excellent working knowledge of construction scheduling.
Demonstrated highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proven as excellent leader with exceptional interpersonal skills.
Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes.
California PE license or ability to obtain within a year.
