As a construction Inspector, you will be spending a majority of your time on-site at construction sites around Las Vegas, NV. Our construction inspection opportunities provide you with the chance to work on exciting and engaging transportation and infrastructure projects. You will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures to complete your assigned tasks in a team environment. Various tasks, responsibilities and contributions to include: • Perform construction inspection of concrete and asphalt pavement removal and replacement on-site • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of test data and reporting of findings • Conducting advanced technical research related to assigned projects • Provide construction inspection of paving and other civil elements to support infrastructure and to support the Construction Manager to inspect and document the construction contractor activities • Perform a broad cross-section of technical activities requiring experience and specialization in Contract Compliance, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) • Identify and document construction and/or QC deficiencies (from applicable contract/standard specifications); standards and project contract documents • Monitors construction activities are in compliance with contract documents; maintaining or preparing a variety of records, including daily progress reports, material accounting records, change orders and record drawings; reviewing new projects for constructability • Prepare monthly progress payment quantities/requests • Performing and/or evaluating tests and inspections, and other methods of verification as specified • Monitor contractor compliance with approved Quality Control Plan • Make recommendations for improvements to standard construction QC provisions as they apply in the field • Assure compliance with approved submittals •Observe, inspect, and document underground utility construction as an Owner's Representative •Ensure compliance with design plans and specifications and permit requirements •Document contractor progress, maintain accurate quantity records, process payment requests, generate punch lists, and certify completion status •Document site activities accurately by maintaining accurate and current field books, construction reports, and as-built record drawings •Coordinate with third party materials testing firms for concrete, soil, and material testing •Advocate for site safety and coordinate with public for safety awareness •Monitor and track additional work, change order work, or force account work. The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • 10 or more years of experience with the oversight and inspection of large scale transportation and infrastructure projects

  • Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations

  • Experience in delivery of and/or supporting technical work (construction specifications, drawings, documentation) in a construction environment

  • Experience with simultaneously inspecting multiple projects Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and other standard computer software

  • Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • ICC, ACI, AWS, NASSCO and other special inspection Accreditations and certifications

  • CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or similar preferred

  • BS Construction Management or a related engineering discipline

  • 15 or more years of experience with the oversight and inspection of large scale transportation and infrastructure projects

  • Applicants already residing in Las Vegas, Nevada preferred
