CH2M Munitions Response Geophysicist – Multiple US Locations in Herndon, Virginia

As a Munitions Response Geophysicist, you will have the chance to deliver high quality work products to our federal sector clients. Working with other members of our team, you'll design, implement, and manage geophysical investigations. During your time with us, you will have the opportunity to develop technical approaches for proposals or projects; analyze or review geophysical data in Oasis Montaj (Geosoft) (including advanced classification data from TEMTADS or MetalMapper systems); prepare site inspection or remedial investigation work plans; prepare geophysical investigation plans; review and prepare geophysical subcontractor procurements; review geophysical subcontractor proposals; interact with internal team players; and oversee subcontractor field activities. The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • BS in geophysics, geology, geological engineering or a closely related field.

  • At least 5 years of geophysical experience with 3 years of Munitions Response related geophysical experience.

  • Specific training, knowledge, and experience necessary to develop, review, and/or implement the Geophysical Investigation Work Plan.

  • Experience with implementing and conducting site investigations for Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) sites.

  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations regarding MEC.

  • Knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA regulatory processes.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Microsoft Access experience

  • Certified as Professional Geologists or Geophysicists

  • Project experience with Advanced Geophysical Classification

  • MS in geophysics, geology, geological engineering or a closely related field

Individual will work on-site as project needs dictate.
