CH2M Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Herndon, VA in Herndon, Virginia


CH2M, a leading employee-owned project delivery firm for over half a century has immediate opportunities in our Herndon VA office.

This candidate will work in several large transportation, water, CSO, wastewater projects in the northeast and Midwest and variety of nationwide transportation projects. The candidate will lead, consult, and participate in field assignments including subsurface investigation, instrumentation, monitoring, and construction assignments. Office assignments will include reviews and performance of design of shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, slope stability analysis, tunneling microtunneling, analysis of testing results, preparation of technical reports and construction documents.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:• MS in Geotechnical Engineering • 15 years exp w/ deep foundation construction, pile driving, and drilled-shafts construction, exp with earth retaining structures, underground construction, tunnels, reinforced concrete diaphragm walls, jet-Grout wall, secant pile walls, and exp with large urban construction projects.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Self- motivated, flexible, willing to travel, and able to work in team setting. • Experience with computer programs GRLWEAP, GINT, LPILE, PCSTABLE or UTEX, SLIDE, SHAFT 5, PLAXIS OR FLAC, DRIVEN OR A-PILE, GRWEAP, and FLORIDA PIER is preferable.
