CH2M Junior Water Field Technician - Lawrence, KS in Lawrence, Kansas
Perform various field activities for CH2M clients and having a hand in transforming tomorrow.
The field technician will provide specialized support through the application of technical skills to the delivery of CH2M services. The incumbent will have thorough knowledge of procedures and technical concepts within own area and be familiar with regulations and standards for area. They will evaluate and resolve problems by applying appropriate solutions from previous practice and similar experiences, and apply technology and seek assistance as needed. Our field technicians:
Assist technical specialists, scientists, engineers or more senior technicians by performing tasks that are usually routine in nature where very few nonstandard situations occur.
Perform typical duties including routine set-up, assembly, and/or installation of components of portions of equipment; may conduct minor troubleshooting and make simple repairs as directed.
Assist Field Leader in application of principles, methods, and techniques of condition assessment technology by performing the following duties.
Assist Field Leader in performing routine condition assessment of sanitary collection system including sewer flow monitoring, RDII investigation and asset inspections.
Start and stop small engines, to control and adjust flow and testing processes.
Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
Comply with Project Policies and Procedures.
Perform other duties as required.
Exercise a significant amount of independent action, seeking advice from more senior technicians or engineers where deviations from the norm occur and where more creativity may be required.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
High School Diploma or GED.
Maintain valid driver's license.
Ability to travel by vehicle around the local project sites.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Perform repetitive motion functions under adverse weather conditions indicative of local environments.
Must be able to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Must be able to work in constricted places.
Must have flexibility to reach, stoop, and bend to work on and with equipment
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, environmental science, or related area of study.
At least 1 year of technical training or equivalent experience.
