CH2M is seeking a full-time Code Enforcement Manager to join our team in Stonecrest, GA.

Our Code Enforcement Manager will manage and execute the requirements of the City’s code compliance programs and work with other City staff to direct the planning, scheduling and coordination of departmental activities in Code Enforcement.

Our Code Enforcement Managers:

• Direct the activities of the City Code Enforcement Department including Land Development Code, building permit violations, and domestic animal control • Interpret and implement the City’s regulations regarding Code Enforcement • Prepare and monitor department budget, revenue and expenses and prepare special reports as required • Conduct special studies when directed by the Director or Council which may require field inspection of various sites • Develop policies, procedures, and priorities to meet established goals • Attend conferences, public hearings, and professional meetings regarding the department’s code functions • Conduct public information speaking engagements to civic groups, homeowner associations and other similar groups on Code Enforcement policies, procedures, codes, and ordinances • Accompany inspectors and perform both periodic and follow-up inspections of new and existing buildings and occupancies • Issue notices, fines and citations while ensuring that violations are properly documented by taking photographs, samples or other evidence and maintain proper chain of custody • Forward cases to the City Attorney and/or District Attorney's office for review and action, and testify, as needed, in legal proceedings • Manage department employees, including: conducting performance evaluations, interviewing prospective employees, making decisions related to promotions, approving employee training, and administering disciplinary actions • Serve as a member of senior management on task forces and committees participating in the City’s strategic planning efforts and addressing Citywide policy and management issues

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

• Bachelor’s degree and Five (5) years of experience in a code enforcement position; or Ten (10) years of experience in a code enforcement position in lieu of Bachelor's degree. • Two (2) years in a code enforcement supervisory role • Experience with legal descriptions and boundary maps of real property • Experience interpreting maps and plans and analyzing technical information related to municipal code enforcement • Experience with principles and techniques of inspection and roles of various agencies involved in the municipal code enforcement regulatory processes • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point • Valid driver’s license with no major infractions

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administrations; Construction Management, Landscape Architecture or related field • Ability to recommend and implement goals, objectives, policies and procedures for inspection programs • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, regulations and ordinances related to municipal code enforcement • Experience working in a public-private partnership • Experience working with elected officials and municipal executive staff
