CH2M is currently seeking motivated and creative individuals interested in the exciting and growing field of electronic payments. This Senior Project Manager for Transit and Rail Fares and Payments will join our West Coast Fare Systems Group, this group assists transit, rail and other public agencies in the strategic planning, design, and implementation of electronic payment systems used by customers to pay transportation fares. You will help lead clients in the development of fare payment systems that utilize advanced electronic payment technologies such as smart cards, NFC-based mobile payments and the development of the fare policies in which they operate. Our number one choice for location is San Francisco, but this individual can also be officed out of our Los Angeles or Portland offices, but will be expected to travel up to 30% of the time…mostly on the West Coast…to meet client and team project needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support CH2M with the design, development and implementation of fare payment systems

  • Lead and support a group of professionals within the Electronic Payment Systems team focused on technical and fare policy analysis

  • Typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, agency reviews, requirements capture, development of fare policy, forecasting fare revenue, developing technical reports and operational alternatives, development of strategic planning documents, technical specifications, procurement packages, engineer’s estimates and financial analysis

  • Specific Project management duties include managing project teams through all phases of project planning, execution and closeout consistent with CH2M established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule and budget to the satisfaction of the client

  • Project Managers are also required to ensure CH2M’s health and safety, quality, financial, risk management and policy expectations are met

  • Provide support to sales activities leading up to the award of a project

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Economics, Geography or a similar degree

  • Minimum of 15 years of recent, professional experience in a technical or operational role managing projects and initiatives in the fares and payments space

  • Expertise in electronic transit payment systems and fare policy

  • Ability to read and understand electronic system design documents

  • Senior level understanding of project management concepts with a desire to further develop related skills that include development of work scope, delivery schedules, project budgeting, resource management and forecasting

  • Strong technical writing experience with an ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated work experience in electronic payment industry, transit service planning, transit operation, transportation and/or financial analysis forecasting

  • Experience with fare models and spreadsheets. Ability to quickly learn internally developed fare models

  • Previous experience in a consulting environment and ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously

  • Advanced degree(s)
