CH2M Senior Transportation Project Manager - Los Angeles, CA in Los Angeles, California
As a Senior Project Manager based in our Los Angeles office, you will have the chance to work on significant transportation projects of varying size in Southern California
Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with 12+ years of related experience in preparing preliminary design, final design plans, specifications, and cost estimates. This position also requires a technical design background in transit and BRT planning, design and transportation engineering, and project management Our Transportation Project Managers: • Possess strong project management skills; and, have the ability to manage multiple assignments with varying degrees of direct and indirect project involvement. • Perform engineering design tasks for transportation projects from conceptual design to final design. This includes having a good working knowledge of the entire project life cycle. • Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages • Have a strong working knowledge of transit and BRT design software tools and be able to mentor and develop junior staff while providing valuable input into design Best Practices. • Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans. • Have strong written and oral communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude. • Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients. • Identify schedule and cost variances and develop recommendations for corrective action. • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance. • Coordinate the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety and organization of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff. • Develop positive and productive working relationships with teaming partners and subcontractors. • Assist in business development and proposal efforts. • Maintain a close relationship with clients and track upcoming project opportunities and collaborate on project pursuits.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.12+ years of related experience in preparing preliminary design, final design plans, specifications, and cost estimates Technical design background in transit design and transportation engineering including BRT systems
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Registration as a PE; a California license is highly desirable
Master’s Degree preferred
Excellent client relationships
