CH2M is currently initiating a search for a Transit and Rail Construction Management Professional for our Los Angeles Transit and Rail Team. This person is responsible for the leadership and management of project/program construction activities. This may take the form of direct responsibility to the client or being provided directly to the Project/Program Manager who maintains the primary client relationship and accountability. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and reviewing construction program safety and security analyses

  • Implementing construction program safety certification programs

  • Conducting meetings and makes presentations to staff, committees, boards, commissions, approval agencies and the general public

  • Leading Fire Life Safety and Safety Certification Committee Meetings

  • Develop construction safety engineering methods, procedures and policies

  • Preparing system safety special studies

  • Oversees contractor construction safety certification programs

  • Supporting as needed of the field inspection efforts

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard construction management techniques, procedures, and criteria

  • With additional experience within one area, the individual is expected to assist in the construction management of larger and more complex assignments

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Possesses an understanding of transit and rail system safety and security programs (e.g., CPUC GO 164-D and 49 CFR 659)

  • Has at least 5 years-experience working in the construction system safety field

  • Has an understanding of the Federal Transit Administration and State Safety Oversight regulations

  • Is willing to travel to support various projects on the west coast

  • Ability to demonstrate good writing and communication skills

  • Maintains strong organizational skills

  • Maintains Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Writing System Safety Program Plans including Safety and Security Management Plans

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification

  • Hold a PE or CSP designation
