Our Electrical Inspector careers provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting water related infrastructure projects. Each day you will utilize your skills and background in electrical construction, power systems, and construction safety to lead field inspectors performing quality assurance duties on this project. You should be a self-motivated professional with NICET Level I (or higher) certification and a proven successful 10 year track record as an Electrical Inspector in a heavy civil construction environment, along with a desire to grow both personally as well as professionally with each construction project. Our Lead Electrical Inspectors:
Perform electrical inspection services.
Utilize Electronic CM Software (E-Builder), ensure that inspection documentation accurately and completely reports the work that has occurred and includes all items of non-conformance to the contract documents and approved change orders in timely manner.
Complete all Daily Inspection Reports to document that the work is being reported accurately and completely and that non-conforming work is accurately documented.
Ensure any changes to the work made in the field are reflected on the record drawings for the project.
Coordinate with Office Engineers as required to monitor the Contractors Requests for Partial Payments, verify that all required documentation is accurate and complete, and verify contractors compliance with contract requirements for certified payrolls and daily sign in sheets.
Notify Contractors immediately of all new Change Orders and Time and Material work; ensure tracking and signing tickets daily for all Time and Material work; ensure that Change Order work and Time and Material work is accurately documented on Daily Inspector's Reports.
Ensure construction photos are taken on a regular basis and are properly filed under the system developed and maintained by the Project Controls Manager.
Attend technical meetings and CPM update meetings as required. Prepare input for the monthly report as required.
Maintain documentation for Contract Closeout including requirements for Controlled Inspections, Occupation or Use Prior to Completion, Substantial Completion, Spare Parts turnover log and CM Equipment Tracking Logs.
Display strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and oversight of a team of sub-consultants.
Assist Environmental, Health, and Safety Professionals with site safety verifications of the Contractor work activities, notifying Contractors of, and documenting concerns.
Assist with coordination of the Contractor's construction work with the plant facilities and engineering.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or relevant experience. • 10 years of experience in providing engineering solutions
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience working on NYCDEP or NYCDDC projects.
