CH2M Green Infrastructure Resident Engineer - New York City, NY in New York, New York
CH2M is seeking a Resident Engineer around the New York City area, with a minimum 5 years of experience, to join our construction management team for the NYC DDC and DEP Projects to support Green Infrastructure including right-of-way bioswales, stormwater greenstreets, permeable pavements and other practices.
As a Resident Engineer, you will utilize your construction experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure and green infrastructure to successfully execute resident engineering responsibilities under the supervision of the Construction Manager or Project Manager.
Our Resident Engineers:
Manage the firm’s day-to-day construction oversight/Resident Engineering efforts on major green infrastructure projects.
Manage inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspector reports in accordance with clients’ requirements.
Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractors’ RFI's and review of shop drawings.
Manage permit status compliance and coordination with other City Agencies.
Provide technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.
Manage office staff responsible for record keeping, general correspondence, compiling and drafting of required reports and deliverables.
Monitor Contractor performance, quality, schedule, overall responsiveness and effectiveness.
Exercise influence over Contractors to maintain project goals regarding cost, schedule, quality, etc.
Manage the Contractor monthly payment process and recommends appropriate adjustments as necessary.
Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, local agencies and the community.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
BS in Engineering or Construction Management, or a related degree.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience, preferably for NYC Agencies such as: NYCDDC, NYCDEP or NYCDOT.
Prior experience as a Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer in NYC.
Proficiency with Primavera and/or MS Project and MS Office Suite. (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Professional Engineer Registration - New York (active) - Preferred
