Asset Management is a recognized management discipline coordinating the activity of an organization to realize value from its assets. CH2M is searching for a Senior Transit and Rail Asset Manager to manage our transit and rail asset management projects and programs in the Northeast region. This position will most likely be based in our NYC office, but we have some flexibility with location depending on candidate preferences. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Asset Management Project Manager – to support transit clients in tasks related to asset management implementation including strategic asset management, capital planning, condition assessment, financial need forecasting/prioritization

  • Lead the development of and work on complex projects involving the implementation of leading edge asset management technologies and processes

  • Work in a team environment to address client requirements

  • Lead staff on tasks within an overall asset management implementation program within large organizations

  • Establish direct relationship with clients to support key technology projects

  • Support clients on site and in the field

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally

  • Ability to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of asset management as a management discipline and the implementation of best practices in a complex environment

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, planning or related field

  • Minimum of 15 years-experience supporting related management consulting, asset management project development and implementation experience

  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency and past experience with the following:

  • Using project and asset management related software

  • Direct experience working with transportation agencies on asset management projects

  • Experience in client management, task development and financial management

  • Experience conducting requirements analysis, gap analysis and developing specification to meet client goals

  • Knowledge of business process requirements

  • Knowledge of new technologies and associated integration issues

  • Knowledge of USDOT MAP-21 Asset Management requirements

  • Software: Diverse asset management software, programming languages and key business process related software

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Advanced degree(s)

  • Desirable experience including a working knowledge of the ISO 55000 standard for Asset Management and its application to transit infrastructure

  • Experience in the design, oversight, testing and operation of complex asset management and transportation Asset Management systems, (such as Infor or Maximo) is a benefit
