CH2M Highway/Roadway Inspector - Oakland, CA in Oakland, California
Our Senior Construction Inspector position provides you an opportunity to work on exciting and large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
Each day you will provide construction inspection in an Owner's Agent or 3rd Party construction inspection role. Your primary purpose will to inspect and enforce the contract requirements for transit projects. Responsibilities/Duties • Ensure compliance with design plans and specifications and permit requirements • Document contractor progress, maintain accurate quanity records, process payment requests, generate punch lists, and certify completion status • Document site activities accurately by maintaining accurate and current field books, construction reports, and as-built record drawings • Coordinate with City personnel, client, contractor, and project stakeholders during course of the projects • Advocate for site safety and coordinate with public for safety awareness • Perform quality assurance inspection of work activities. • Coordinate special inspections, shutdowns, tie-ins and special. Assemblies. Responsible for contractor adherence to Technical Specifications. • Monitor that all construction activities are being carried out in accordance with accepted safety rules, plans, and procedures and will report deviations immediately to CM Transit CM Lead. Monitor the activities of the utility coordinator.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Education: Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field. Relevant experience based upon submitted resumes may substitute for education. • Advanced knowledge of building codes, materials analysis, building structures, construction processes and industry standards is required. Field Inspector must possess knowledge of engineering principles and legal codes and policies, along with a valid driver's license. • 10+ years’ experience inspecting civil infrastructure projects. • Experience in delivery of and/or supporting technical work (construction specifications, drawings, documentation) in a construction environment • Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Civil/roadway experience • Accredidations and certifcations through ICC, ACI, and AWS other Special Inspection areas preferred • Qualifications: Journeyman license in a relevant building trade is highly desirable; certification in commercial categories of International Code Council (ICC) for California is highly desirable.
