WATER AMR/AMI SPECIALIST-OAKLAND, CALIFORNIACH2M is seeking a full-time Water AMR/AMI Specialist to join our team in Oakland, California. The purpose of this position is to provide consulting expertise to water automated meter reading (AMR) and advanced meter infrastructure (AMI) projects. Each day you will be responsible for client and project management for AMR and AMI projects across North American and will report to the Head of Meter Automation for the water business group. CH2M provides feasibility and business case evaluation, functional requirements, procurement and evaluation support, implementation management, and benefits realization (leak detection, NRW, hydraulic modeling). We are typically brought in as an “owner’s agent” to represent the best interest of the water utility/municipality.In this highly specialized position you will work with a small team of technical experts to identify and pursue new clients, while increasing market coverage for our water AMR/AMI projects. You should be a self-motivated professional with 5 years of consulting or water utility experience, have a bachelor’s degree in an analytical field, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally. Let’s get to work.Our Meter Automation Consultants:• Serve as technical experts in support of business development, proposal writing, and client interviews.• Participate and collaborate in client and project development activities while working on multi-disciplinary consulting teams.• Utilize high-level organizational, business process, financial, and technical analyses to develop solutions for specific client needs.• Provide technical input and participate in the delivery of feasibility analysis, procurement, and implementation programs.• Significantly contribute to the firm’s reputation through such accomplishments as published articles and presentations at conference of regional, national, and global significance.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Bachelor’s Degree• 10 years of water consulting or water utility experience• Prior automated meter reading (AMR) or advanced meter infrastructure (AMI) experience• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)• Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Master’s Degree• IT integration and/or billing systems experience• Former water utility experience implementing and/or testing AMR/AMI• Data management, hydraulic modeling, non-revenue water experience• Organized, able to work on multiple project simultaneously, and able to work under deadline pressure• Process Improvement experience (such as meter to cash cycle)
