Support FDOT drainage design and permitting for roadway and rail projects in Orlando, FL and have a role in transforming tomorrow.

The essential functions for this position include: • Supervise and lead engineering design tasks consisting of planning and designing wet and dry pond systems, storm drain, cross drain, and ditch conveyance systems, plans production, and documentation of design elements in reports for planning, Project Development and Environmental Studies, preliminary engineering to support client request for proposals, and final designs. • Background with MicroStation and Geopak software to develop project drainage for roadway and rail designs and produce design plans. • Serves as Engineer of Record and provides technical guidance to technicians, designers and other engineers for the development of final plans do ensure conformance with design intent and state and federal design standards. • Lead study and design projects, including subconsultant coordination • Manage and supervise the development of technical specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages for the drainage elements in support of roadway design projects. • Provide Quality Control reviews of drainage analysis and design packages prepared by other engineers to ensure compliance with current state and federal design standards. • Assists business development activities including the development of project design approach, writing technical proposals and developing/presenting oral presentations. • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested, which may include field activities such as observation of construction activities; review of construction submittals for conformance to contract and drainage design documents; risk reviews, and other routine assignments requiring knowledge and application of engineering principles and team leadership. The candidate should be able to: • Complete tasks assigned on time, within budget, and to high level of quality • Demonstrate leadership, time management and organizational skills • Possess high ethical values and strong sense of commitment to self-development, team work, and desire to work in a deadline driven team environment • Take a lead role in mentoring less experienced staff in their career development

The minimum qualifications for this position are:• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field such as Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program • Florida Professional Engineering (PE) License, or ability to obtain a Florida Professional Engineering registration within 12 months of employment • 10+ years of experience in the transportation drainage and environmental permitting fields
