CH2M Transportation/Traffic Engineer - Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida

Developing People through Challenging Projects. CH2M’s Orlando, Florida office is looking for a highly motivated roadway/transportation Engineer.

The essential functions for this position include:

• Perform engineering design tasks consisting of roadway horizontal and vertical alignment design, production of plans and documentation of design elements in reports for planning, Project Development and Environmental Studies, preliminary engineering to support client request for proposals, and final designs. • Use MicroStation and Geopak software to develop project roadway and rail designs and produce design plans. • Serves as Engineer of Record and provides technical guidance to technicians, designers and other engineers for the development of final plans do ensure conformance with design intent and state and federal design standards. • Coordinates design activities and meetings between CH2M staff, subcontractors and clients. • Develop technical specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages for roadway design projects. • Provide Quality Control reviews of roadway designs and plans packages prepared by other engineers to ensure compliance with current state and federal design standards. • Assists business development activities including the development of project design approach, writing technical proposals and developing/presenting oral presentations. • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. • Assist in the preparation of technical documents and reports • Perform field activities such as observation of construction activities, as required • Review construction submittals for conformance to contract and design documents • Perform the routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of engineering principles

The minimum qualifications for this position are:• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited civil engineering program • Florida Professional Engineering (PE) License, or ability to obtain a Florida Professional Engineering registration within 12 months of employment • 5+ years of experience in the transportation engineering field

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Expertise in Microstation and Geopak • Experience with FDOT project delivery • Experience with Geopak corridor modeling • Experience managing roadway tasks or deputy PM role for FDOT projects
