CH2M’s Pensacola, FL State & Local Governments Team seeks a Water Engineer who wants to make a difference in their community and through solving the exciting engineering challenges facing CH2M’s water clients. We are looking for a highly motivated engineer to work on a variety of water treatment, wastewater treatment, and conveyance projects. This position will primarily support senior level engineers and project managers to conduct evaluations, designs, and construction management services at water and wastewater facilities. Each day, you will be an important team member as you participate in the design, coordination, and execution of projects for our clients. Our senior engineers are committed to strong mentorship and providing opportunities to work independently and with peers. You should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project while delivering transformative projects for our clients, in our diverse and fast-paced office.Our Water and Wastewater Treatment Engineers:

  • Assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects, including task management.

  • Mentor junior staff on small to medium projects.

  • Work on proposals and contribute to client relationships and business development efforts.

  • Perform a wide variety of routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

  • Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and systems to efficiently meet project goals.

  • Prepare planning documents, reports, studies, and calculations.

  • Prepare models, engineering specifications, data sheets, sketches, drawings and perform calculations in support of engineering activities.

  • Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an environmental engineering specialty or a related engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 4 years of water and/or wastewater engineering experience.

  • EIT Certification

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an environmental engineering specialty or a related engineering discipline.

  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in the state of Florida or ability to gain reciprocity.

  • Previous professional experience with a consulting firm serving municipal clients

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Professional society involvement.

  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse teams
