Working under the direction and supervision of a senior project manager, coordinate the design and drafting of the various disciplines working on a given project, monitor the work progress and performance of the design teams, help develop project deliverables, and assist in the development of proposals.

Our design specialist position will provide you with an opportunity to work on state of the art facilities that include microelectronics, data centers, heavy industrial, research & development, and general manufacturing. Each day you will provide specialized support using AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM design software to support the completion of the work, as well as affording you the opportunity to learn the necessary skills that will allow you to function in a project management type role. This position is client facing and will require you to be a self-motivated individual that can work independently, and possess strong communication and organizational skill sets, as well as a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each new project. Responsibilities for our Mechanical Designer Specialist include: • High degree of knowledge and proficiency using AutoCAD. • High degree of knowledge and proficiency using Revit or other BIM software. • Ability to work independently, while also maintaining an awareness of personal limitations, and requesting assistance when required. • Ability to formulate engineering design criteria that will be used in the development of project specifications and drawings. • Provide QC checks and reviews on project deliverables. • Have experience developing General Arrangement drawings. • Ability to coordinate the work among various engineering disciplines. • Strong desire to expand their skill set beyond design, and into a client facing Project Management/Design type role. • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Must display good organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment. • Ability to execute tasks within the specified scope and budget and ensure other engineering disciplines are meeting that same criteria. • Ability to follow direction of senior Project Manager and be able to translate those directions to other team members. • Assist the senior Project manager with the following: o Ensuing that CH2M policies and procedures regarding project execution are being followed. o Help in the proposal development and submission through CH2M’s approval process. o Work with the Discipline Manager and the Engineering Manager to determine the necessary level of effort and staffing requirements for specific projects. o Help prepare project change notices. o Monitor the progress and performance of the engineering discipline teams to ensure adherence to the project scope, schedule and budget. o Submit monthly status reports to client.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

• Associate Degree in Mechanical design.

• 7-10 years’ experience in mechanical design including HVAC and process piping.

• AutoCAD

• 3D modeling capabilities using Revit
