CH2M Highway/Roadway Project Manager - Portland, OR in Portland, Oregon

CH2M is looking for an externally-focused Highway/Roadway Project Manager to manage a range and complexity of roadway and highway design projects.

Each day, you will assist in forming client outreach strategy and relationship development actions, identify key pursuits and lead positioning efforts, and manage a team of technical resources in delivering transportation projects. CH2M’s internal structure promotes autonomy and allows for great opportunities to deliver local projects in Oregon but to also be involved in delivering transportation solutions to clients in the Western U.S. and beyond. You should be a self-motivated professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline and at least 10 years of successful transportation engineering and project management experience. Your knowledge of the local area transportation community including Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), special authorities, key stakeholders, and short- and long-range transportation improvement plans as well as your experience with taking local roadway and highway projects from conceptual design through final PS&E will be key to your success. You must possess a strong design engineering background, certification as a Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon, and a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each infrastructure job and project. Our Project Managers: • Provide direction to a team of professional staff • Advise the client on costs for changes and additional work inaugurated by the client • Direct business and technical operations, ensure quality performance, coordinate project deliverables and sponsor technical reviews • Plan, staff, schedule, budget, coordinate subcontractors and internal support, and assure quality as well as safety • Responsible for successful completion of complex projects with multiple phases and/or construction contracts • Provide briefs as required to assure higher levels of management are informed of project status • Evaluate performance of engineers and technicians supporting your projects • • Assure compliance with the scope of work and design criteria • Responsible for scope development/management; development and control of budgets, schedules, and have P&L accountability • Responsible for positive cash management • Identify and evaluate risk that may impact the project • Put effective contingency plans in place to handle potential problems

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

Professional Engineering registration (PE) in the state of Oregon, or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire BS degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline

10+ years of progressive experience in transportation design projects

5+ years of project management experience 3+ years of business development/client service manager experience

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, Microstation, and Inroads design software and knowledge of state-of-the-art highway design technologies
