Our Transportation Planner career path enables you to contribute to diverse project teams throughout the Pacific Northwest. You will be responsible for a variety of functions, including: • Leading research and analysis tasks for a range of transportation planning projects; • Developing findings and writing technical reports and plans; • Presenting to internal and external project teams, stakeholders, and the public; and • Coordinating internal and external teams to produce deliverables. You will work on a variety of long-range transportation plans and corridor plans as well as other transportation planning and policy projects. The successful candidate will be expected to prepare and deliver a wide range of reports, memoranda and written plans, including NEPA technical reports. You will serve as a task lead for multiple project teams, coordinating schedules and tracking budgets in addition to managing content production. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of progressively responsible work history in transportation planning. Master's degree in Urban, Regional or Environmental Planning, Public Administration, Public Policy or a related field preferred. Top candidates will be team-oriented, have strong analytical and written communication skills, and experience with NEPA analysis and documentation. Long range transportation planning experience is desired as well as proficiency with environmental issues and land use analysis.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Related BS/BA degree; prefer master’s degree in planning or a related field • 8-10 years of progressively responsible work history in transportation planning • Outstanding writing and organizational skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Master's degree in Urban, Regional or Environmental Planning, Public Administration, Public Policy or a related field • Experience with GIS mapping and analysis • Experience with public involvement and outreach
