CH2M Water Engineer - Portland, OR in Portland, Oregon

Work on water engineering projects in the Northwest while having a hand in transforming tomorrow.

The successful candidate will work on studies, designs, and field assignments for stormwater, water supply, drainage, conveyance, water and wastewater treatment projects in Portland and through the western U.S. The role will involve working with multi-disciplinary teams through the planning, design, and implementation phases of projects completed for municipal, private, state, Tribal, and Federal clients. Our Water Engineers:

  • Develop drawings and specifications for design projects. Coordinate changes to drawings and specifications with project team members.

  • Develop cost estimates and conduct quantity takeoffs for design projects.

  • Apply engineering principles and software packages to analyze hydrologic and hydraulic systems. Interpret results and communicate with design team and other disciplines as design process proceeds. Document design basis and decisions in technical memoranda and reports.

  • Work independently and as part of a team

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • BS Degree in Civil, Environmental, Agricultural, or Bio-Resource Engineering or a closely related field

  • At least 2 years of civil, environmental or water resources engineering experience

  • CAD experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • MS Degree in Civil, Environmental, Agricultural, or Bio-Resource Engineering or a closely related field

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, with ability to obtain professional engineering license within 3 years

  • Competence in design disciplines including site civil, conveyance, and structures

  • Knowledge of Electrical and Instrumentation & Control Engineer's role in delivery of water and water resource projects

  • Experience writing detailed technical specifications and reports

  • Experience using at least one of these software packages: HEC-RAS, Microstation, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil3D, ArcMap

  • Experience writing scopes of work and preparing associated budgets
