CH2M Construction Manager - Water/Wastewater Projects - St. Louis, MO in Saint Louis, Missouri

Serve a variety of clients in the St. Louis area in planning, designing, constructing, and delivering projects that help our clients achieve their vision

CH2M is looking for a highly motivated construction manager to work on a variety of exciting wastewater and water projects associated with the construction of improvements at treatment facilities and piping systems.

Support our St. Louis office and serve primarily municipal wastewater and water-related client services. Position will provide opportunity to grow professionally through managing challenging projects and leading teams while serving and developing clients.

Under the direction and guidance of senior leadership, this position will be responsible for leading teams in exceptional delivery of on-site construction administration. Other responsibilities include the following: direct communications with clients and project managers on technical topics and project schedule/budget/scope; supporting or leading teams and communicating between diverse disciplines; establishing long-term client relationships and supporting business development activities.

Our Construction Managers:

•Successful completion of Client’s construction projects

•Monitoring Client’s project costs and Contractor’s pay applications/cash flow

•Oversee Inspectors, Project Engineers and Field Engineers

•Coordinate and manage specialty subcontractors

•Monitor project construction schedule

•Negotiate change orders on behalf of Client

•Client service management

•Manage overall jobsite safety for CM team

•Update as-built documents

•Track and audit construction labor

•Complete daily, monthly and other periodic reports

•Plans and organizes the observation and documentation of construction projects.

•Schedules and coordinates observation of ongoing work and testing and sampling of materials.

•Assigns, leads and supervises internal staff engaged in observation and testing and in related record keeping.

•Monitors contractors' progress against schedule and prepares progress reports.

•Reviews payment requests and determines amount owing to contractor(s) based on on-site observations and contract stipulations.

•Oversees compilation of final estimate documents.

•Role does not supervise any contractor's activities and are not responsible for contractor’s job site safety

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

•B.S. in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline

•Minimum 15 years of experience as Design and/or Construction Project Manager

•Minimum 15 years of experience in the St. Louis Metropolitan marketplace

•Experience with design and construction of water and wastewater facilities

•Experience with procurement, scheduling, estimating, risk management, cost control

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

•Knowledge of the St. Louis metropolitan area and ability to bring a local understanding to all tasks

•CMAA or DBIA Certifications

•Professional Engineer

•Design-Build experience

•Experience with Primavera (P6)

•Experience with Prolog

•Experience with scheduling and cost management

  • Candidate must have the ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat and crawl down into ditches; ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors; and ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings. Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain and equipment/traffic hazards. Job also requires ability to process paper and electronic documents and utilize computer. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Job also requires ability to plan and prioritize tasks, and review contract documents, project plans and progress reports.
