In this Transportation Structures Representative position you will report to the manager and client as the structures point of contact on a local large transportation project. You will establish the communications protocol for those involved in structure work, coordinate as necessary with the Caltrans Structure Construction Oversight Engineer for non-State administered construction contracts, coordinate as necessary to ensure a timely and complete review process involving CRIPs, CCOs, and working drawing submittals and complete the As-Built plans submittal. In addition, you will be responsible for conducting audits and constructability reviews, performing field quality tests such as concrete testing, assisting in any necessary project studies or investigations, preparing/reviewing contract documents, and being responsible for the safety of CH2M site staff. In this role, you will also communicate roles/responsibilities to team members, manage site staff, be responsible for geotechnical testing, monitor/report quality issues, cost concerns and scheduling impacts. You will also review payment certificates, maintain a change management registry, monitor/report quality issues as well as schedule impacts and provide leadership and mentoring to the site staff.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline or equivalent experience • Technical Certifications such as ACI Level I National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) and construction inspection certificates for Structures, Aggregates (Level 1), Asphalt Paving (Level 2) • At least 10 years of Resident Engineer/Inspector/Construction Manager experience performing in a similar capacity on projects with similar magnitude and complexity. • California PE • Competent with Daily Diaries, RFI’s, CCO processing, Shop Drawings and False work design and review. • Familiarity with all Safety and SWPPP requirements. • Understanding and adhering to the principals of Partnering
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• 15-20 years of transportation construction project technical experience as a Resident Engineer/Construction Inspector on DOT projects • Experience with Caltrans Structure Construction • CMGC experience
