We are looking for a highly motivated mid-level engineer that has positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills to work on a variety of hydrology and hydraulics analysis, planning and design services. Demonstrated ability to seamlessly interface with others on the team and demonstrate your leadership and mentoring skills as well as taking direction from the project managers. Proven ability in meeting the technical requirements of a projects competently.
Each day, you will be an important member of the team to assist in the development of BMP PS&E work for Caltrans District 7 and other regional clients. You will be responsible for planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and with peers will be important for your success and continued growth professionally and within CH2M.
Hydrology & Hydraulics Water Engineer - Santa Ana, CA
•Providing some technical guidance to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers.
•Working on tasks under the supervision of senior engineer/task lead.
•Performing assignments which are clearly defined and require application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
•Assisting with planning and design of hydrologic and hydraulics for a variety of projects including highway improvement projects, state route landscaping projects, field services during construction, regional watershed projects, storm water conveyance projects, hydraulic modeling and a variety of other related services.
•Managing data research, collection and compilation efforts; field observations and investigations.
•Assist with GIS services and mapping to support project requirements.
•Experience with the application and use of WSPG, AES, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or other hydrologic and hydraulic software.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
2 years of experience performing hydrology and hydraulics analysis and design
Experience with Caltrans Drainage Design
Experience with WSPG, AES, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or other hydrologic and hydraulic software
Experience with AutoCAD and Microstation
Knowledge of Southern California or applicable hydrology, hydraulic and drainage design criteria
Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse a team
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
6 or more years of related experience
Experience in GIS
Stormwater quality experience, particularly with Caltrans Treatment BMPs
Professional Engineering (PE) License
