Support CH2M's and our client's safety mission by providing safety coordination at various facilities.
As the Safety Specialist at our Facilities Services program onsite at our client's facilities, you will work as part of our CH2M team and directly with client Safety professionals. Each day, you will conduct inspections and audits, conduct ergonomic evaluations of workstations, provide trainings, as well as other safety-focused services. Our Safety Specialist will:
• Travel to various client facilities to perform safety audits and various inspections. Respond to OSHA inspections and give guidance and recommendations as appropriate. Continue working on client’s safety manual updating as changes in laws requirements occur. • Coordinate with associates in evaluating individual ergonomic assessments as requested and scheduled. • Continue sourcing and reviewing new and improved ergonomic products. Give guidance through presentations to various groups and divisions. • Conduct actual safety training, coordinate safety training through third party trainers or train the trainer for future training sessions. • Coordinate and ensure that all key personnel have been trained in Emergency Response and ensure updates are being done. • Oversee the completion of the OSHA 300 logs and BLS surveys. Review incident reports and meeting summary of various local safety committees to monitor for trends/issues.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety/environmental related field • At least 2 years of experience with OSHA/EPA/NFPA/RCRA/DOT regulations
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Health Safety and Environmental audit experience • Experience with Emergency Preparedness training and written plans • Experience conducting office ergonomic assessments • Familiar with Health Safety and Environmental training requirements • Familiar with warehouse ergonomics in order to understand programs being implemented • Experienced in emergency response and be able to maintain current First aid and CPR certificates • Nursing background is a plus • EMT experience is a plus
