CH2M Licensed Wastewater Operator and Project Manager Intern, Twin Falls, ID in Twin Falls, Idaho
CH2M is seeking a full-time Water Operator and Project Manager Intern to join our team in Twin Falls, ID.
Our Project Manager Intern will oversee 10 full-time associates delivering a scope of work that includes the operations and maintenance (O&M) of a wastewater treatment facility including staffing, compensation, training and development, progressive discipline, rewards and recognition, and termination in accordance with standard company policy. Areas of Responsibility:
• Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records and prepare reports required by the client and all regulatory agencies • Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with supervisors, subordinates, and the client • Administer and monitor operational budgets to attain financial objectives • Develop plans and procedures to ensure that facilities operate within permit limits as an integrated system • Recommend additions or improvements to the treatment facilities and analyze his/her cost effectiveness • Maintain technical operational skills at the highest level and remain informed of the latest developments in the field • May be responsible for the administration and technical support of one or more treatment plants • Inspect facilities, analyze and evaluate O&M functions, review records and data, interview and select new O&M personnel, initiate or recommend new or improved O&M methods or practices • Prepare O&M and compliance monthly reports for the client as well as local, state, and federal regulatory agencies; prepare, review, and approve operations reports and budget requests from subordinate department heads • Assist in the preparation of specifications for major equipment and material purchases • Maintain effective communications and working relationships with employees, the client, consultants, and the public
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• High School Diploma or GED • Five (5) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of water or wastewater facilities, two (2) years must have been at the supervisory level • State ABC or State Level 3 Certification as a water/wastewater operator; a 1-year grace period to attain that certification is acceptable if reciprocity or relocation is involved • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Possess a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record with no major infractions
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Capable of working independently and maintaining an orderly schedule • Understanding of the technical aspects of the facility to be managed • Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills • Willingness to travel approximately 15%
