CH2M GIS Services Manager in Centennial, Colorado

Jacobs is seeking a senior-level GIS specialist to join the City of Centennial project to support GIS service delivery, as well as manage and oversee GIS services at other Jacobs projects.
The person in this position must possess strong geospatial, cartographic and planning knowledge that is leveraged to design, develop, implement and test complex GIS applications for Jacobs projects and our clients. The incumbent has thorough knowledge of GIS and general knowledge of other subject areas; understands how own area integrates with and impacts other areas; and understands business trends and industry issues and challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs all conventional aspects of GIS design and analysis • Demonstrates senior-level cartographic, data management and analytical skills • Demonstrates a solid understanding of GIS concepts and spatial data as well as cartographic/data management skills • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of GIS Best Practices, techniques, procedures, and criteria • Provides technical guidance to less experienced GIS professionals • Works as a technical expert in design, development, implementation, and testing of simple to moderately complex GIS applications. • Maintains, updates and creates databases and reports for asset management, inventory audits, and usage of all computer assets • Manages data capture, input and quality control of spatial data using ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro and ArcOnline • Maintains a project Geodatabase utilizing multiple data sources including shape files, CAD files, public and proprietary databases and aerial and satellite imagery
The minimum qualifications for this position are:• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Geography, Planning, Natural Resources, Engineering, or related field, and 7 years of GIS experience; Or 12 years of GIS experience in lieu of degree • Experience using ESRI applications, including but not limited to, ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro and ArcOnline • Experience in Geodatabases and Shapefiles • Experience with oral presentations to clients and training to employees • Ability to travel 25% of the time • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications • Possess a valid driver’s license
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
• Experience with programming and supporting Trimble products and related software • Experience with using ArcFM for Fiber Management • Experience in GPS/TerraSync formatting and management • Experience with the FleetRoute application and overall functionality • Experience in geo-connected data management and troubleshooting • Experience with Python Scripting and other scripting languages • Effective organization and time-management skills • Strong interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other employees, government officials, contractors, suppliers, and the general public
