The minimum qualifications for this position are:• High School Diploma or GED • Grade I, II, III or IV ABC Wastewater Certification or a Bachelors is engineering or science in lieu of the wastewater certification • Experience in operating wastewater plants with increasing levels of responsibility • Experience performing mathematical and algebraic calculations associated with wastewater treatment • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Possess a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record with no major infractions

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Certification as a wastewater operator at the highest level attainable in the state of Oregon • A 1-year grace may be provided to attain that certification is acceptable if reciprocity or relocation is involved • Capable of working independently and maintaining an orderly schedule • Understanding of the technical aspects of managing a wastewater plant • Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills • Willingness to travel approximately 10%
