As the Transportation Drainage Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. Working with other members of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a team on exciting transportation projects. During our time with us you will primarily work on roadway and highway drainage for alignment studies, design concept reports, and final construction documents. On occasion you may also be engaged on roadway engineering design activities, and candidates with even limited prior roadway design experience would be viewed favorably. Typical activities and products may include performing hydrologic and hydraulic computations, providing detailed calculations, construction plan preparation, drainage report preparation, specifications and estimates. Some hydrology and hydraulic models used for typical projects include HEC-RAS, HY8, Inroads Storm and Sanitary, HEC-HMS, SWMM5, and others required to meet State and Federal requirements. Under the mentorship of senior level staff, you will have the opportunity to exercise judgment and make recommendations in the development and creation of transportation plans for complex, multi-disciplined projects. The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience working in hydrology and hydraulic calculations, roadway drainage design, flood control and watershed modeling

  • Have an Nevada PE license, or have the necessary education and work experience to be able to attain an Nevada PE license within the next yearMust be familiar with CAD design using Microstation

  • Experience working on Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), Clark County, southern Nevada Cities & Clark County Regional Flood Control (CCRFCD) projects

  • Familiarity with NDOT and CCRFCD Drainage design manuals and preferred software
