As a Ports & Maritime Structural Engineer, you’ll have the chance to work with our global multi-disciplinary team of engineers working on ports and maritime projects in the Texas coastal region and all over the world. Working with other members of the team, you’ll be involved in the design, analysis, and delivery of projects ranging from local waterfront projects to international multi-billion dollar port developments. In addition, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable field experience on infrastructure development projects throughout the Houston metropolitan area. During your time with us, you will be involved in the preparation of structural calculations/designs, technical specifications, engineering reports, and construction/field reports, as well as be involved in inspection of structures. The minimum qualifications for this position are:• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design of concrete and steel structures• Professional Engineer in the State of Texas (or ability to apply for reciprocity to obtain a TX PE) or in the process of sitting for the PE exam• Working knowledge of ACI and AISC • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and structural analysis programs (preferably STAADPro)
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• 5 to 10 years’ experience in the structural design of transportation projects.• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering• Experience in the design and rehabilitation of marine structures and facilities• Experience working in the field on marine structures and facilities• Experience with cost estimating and services during construction on transportation projects. • Experience with Port Authorities.• Additional knowledge of AASHTO and bridge design experience is a plus.
