As a Design Architect, you’ll have the chance to work with our internal network of engineers, architects, and project managers in designing facilities for the Federal Government and related institutions. Working with other members of the architectural team and with other design disciplines, you’ll lead the architectural development of design packages. During your time with us, you will lead charrettes, generate design analyses, and oversee production of construction drawings and specifications. Additionally, you’ll perform field work, both prior to design and as a follow up during construction period activities. If you’re up for the challenge, we’ve been looking for someone just like you. The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • U.S. Citizen with current Driver’s License (US State) per contract requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture

  • Licensed as Registered Architect

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience producing construction document packages

  • Competency in leading internal teams in production of architectural design packages using Revit

  • Ability to lead inter-discipline coordination efforts

  • Extensive knowledge of architectural codes and standards, including ICC and NFPA

  • Ability to travel internationally on at least a limited basis (no more than 1 week per quarter)

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Masters degree in Architecture

  • Active or recent Department of Defense Security Clearance

  • Experience in and knowledge of design of heavy industrial facilities including ship building applications

  • Extensive knowledge of sustainability principles

  • LEED AP credentials

  • Expertise in building envelopes including roofs, air barriers, facades, and thermal performance characteristics

  • Familiarity with federal requirements for life cycle cost analyses of competing envelope alternative choices

  • Both new construction and renovation experience

  • Ability to lead programming and planning exercises as well as design charrettes

Duties will typically be performed in an office environment, at construction sites for new facilities, or at existing facilities undergoing renovation. Periodic travel will be required for site visits and client meetings.
