As the construction manager you will be focused on leading the delivery of a highly visible hazardous waste environmental remediation construction project across the Hudson from NYC in Edgewater, New Jersey for the firm’s external client. You will be responsible for the team of Construction Management Professionals and Support personnel of all levels as well as the Technical, Financial and Strategic aspects of the project. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading and managing the construction project team through site mobilization, execution, and demobilization activities, consistent with established project delivery processes to ensure the orderly, efficient, and timely completion of the project scope in accordance with requirements specified in the contract documents. The minimum qualifications for this position are:
40 Hour Hazwoper training or ability to obtain and maintain
15 years of experience and of Bachelor’s degree OR High School diploma or equivalent and 17 years of experience
Civil Construction experience including dirt works
Hazardous Site Remediation project experience
Ability to work onsite full time in northern New Jersey
Proficiency in the use of computer to prepare reports using programs such as Word, Excel and other construction related programs
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
CCM (Certified Construction Manager)
Person already residing a commutable distance from Edgewater, NJ
Possess experience in investigation, design, and implementation of geoenvironmental remedies such as barrier wall/slurry wall installation, in-situ stabilization/solidification, excavation, and capping.
Proven excellent working knowledge of construction scheduling.
Demonstrated highly effective written and verbal communication skills
Proven as excellent leader/player with exceptional interpersonal skills
