CH2M Transportation Planning Intern - Portland, OR in Portland, Oregon
This position is responsible for supporting transportation planning and development projects in CH2M’s northwest operations. The intern will work on a wide range of projects, supporting the project team in delivering high-quality plans and products. The intern completes project tasks and activities under the direction of project team members and the Manager of Talent.
As the Transportation Planning Intern in our Portland office, you will have the chance to work on long range transportation planning projects that include transportation system plans, transit corridor planning, public involvement support, and transportation policy. During your time with us, you will prepare specifications and drawings, write control system descriptions, perform start up and commissioning activities while under the direct supervision of senior team members. The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Enrolled in a Master's of Urban and Regional Planning Program from an Accredited College or University
Knowledge of basic transportation planning concepts, including land use, economic development, community development, and environmental planning Strong writing skills
Awareness about equity issues, environmental justice, and the public involvement process
Awareness of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and applicable state requirements (e.g., California Natural Resources Agency (CEQA) and Washington State Department of Ecology (SEPA).
Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of mapping applications (ArcGIS, Google Earth), graphic production/design tools (Adobe Suite), and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
