As Civil Site Plan Review Professional you will have the chance to review and approve complex civil engineering construction and private development engineering plans and documents for conformance to City design and construction standards, codes and ordinances. Working with other members of our team and City staff you will perform overall supervision and review of detailed and complex engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and required submittals for private development projects, such as street, water distribution, sewer collection, and stormwater management systems. During your time with us, you will also have the opportunity to evaluate design of erosion control, storm drainage, streets, sidewalk and other infrastructure needed for development; manage and supervise development review and construction inspection operations to achieve goals within available resources; train, coach and evaluate assigned staff; review progress and direct changes as needed; and respond to questions and inquiries from the public and other agencies regarding street and drainage issues, public works standards and permits. The minimum qualifications for this position are:• BS degree in Science, Civil, Environmental Engineering or related technical field, and seven (7) plus years of increasingly responsible civil engineering development services related experience; or High school or equivalent, and fifteen (15) plus years of increasingly responsible civil engineering development services related experience in lieu of degree • Experience with federal, state and local codes, laws and regulations • Experience with infrastructure inspection principles and practices • Municipal experience • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point (MS Office Suite) • Valid driver’s license with no major infractions

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:• Thorough knowledge of principle and practices of civil engineering • Knowledge of principles and practices of project management, methods and techniques used in engineering plan review • Knowledge of standard specification compliance methods and contractor construction methods • Knowledge of the principles and practices of land development • Arborist certification • Strong written and oral communication skills • CAD or GIS experience • Self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis and technical problem solving
